Tragedy was yet averted today, Sunday May 26, 2013 when the building of a Lagos strip club, Ocean Blue collapsed. The club, located on 14, Opebi Street lost half of its two-storey-ed structure when it collapsed. Eye witnesses say the incident which happened at around 1:20pm startled the neighbours. A woman was arrested on charges of bestiality after she showed pictures to her boyfriend of herself having sex with a dog. Brittany Sonnier, 20, of Arizona, has been jailed after she allegedly confessed to having sex with her family dog. An investigation began after Sonnier told her boyfriend that she enjoyed having sex with dogs. Sonnier showed her boyfriend pictures of herself engaged in inappropriate behavior with the dog. According to Lake Havasu City Police, Sonnier admitted to having sex with dogs since she was 13-years-old. After hearing about her story with dogs the boyfriend was very disturbed by her behaviour. The police at Ilemba Hausa, Ajangbadi Division, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, have arrested four suspects who allegedly steal or buy children from Lagos and sell in the eastern part of the country. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa on Thursday arrested a 50-year old hunter for allegedly impregnating his 17-year old step granddaughter in Dutse. The NSCDC Commandant, Mr Muhammad Gidado, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the suspect was arrested over alleged incest. Gidado said that the suspect, married to the girl’s aunt, committed the offence at Warwade community in Dutse. He said parents of the victim had filed a complaint against the suspect following his inability to settle medical bills at the clinic where she was delivered of her baby. Gidado said the girl had undergone Caesarean section and had been suffering from anaemia due to pregnancy related complications. Africa’s richest man and President of Dangote Group Alhaji Aliko Dangote yesterday promised to end fuel importation in Nigeria in four years when his proposed refinery comes on stream. Work would commence later in the year on the proposed 400,000 barrels per day refinery which is expected to cost $4.25 billion, to be located in Ondo State, Dangote said in an interview after the Annual General Meeting of Dangote Cement in Abuja. Dangote group would provide half of the money while the rest would be sourced from two foreign banks and Nigerian banks. “We hope to start something by end of the year. We have put down 50 percent of the money. We have secured $4.25 billion from two foreign banks and the rest from local banks,” Dangote said.

According to AllHipHop.com, Facebook and its advertising agency, Wieden + Kennedy, allegedly lifted the rapper’s music, ‘Under the Influence’, for an online ad to promote their new Facebook Home app without the rapper’s consent. Three youths, Chizoba Amara, 23, ThankGod Okoro, 23, and Godwin Godday, 20, have been arraigned before a Lagos court for gang-rape and trespassing into a football field where they allegedly molested a teenager, named withheld. The End of Life Choices law was effective immediately, although it could be weeks before the state Health Department develops regulations in accordance with the new measure. Three teenagers in the U.S. who allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl in December and posted the video of the crime on Facebook will be tried as adults. The boys were held in custody in lieu of the $900,000 [A$918,000] bail in a hearing before the criminal court on Friday. A 15-year-old beggar, Mohammed Ismaila, is a regular face around Mile 12 area of Lagos State. Those who move between Mile 12 and Ikeja on daily basis, will, at one point or another, see him crawling on his stomach begging for alms. He told PUNCH Metro that despite that begging had been outlawed in the state, he took the risk of crawling on the streets pleading for alms because he wanted to send his younger ones to school. The police in Zimbabwe has arrested a former Big Brother Africa winner, Wendall Parson over an alleged $25,000 fraud. Wendall, who co-won the reality TV game show with Nigeria's Karen Igho in 2011, was alleged to have made false car insurance claims after he was involved in an accident with his car in March 2013. We gathered from reports that Wendall allegedly insured his Ford Ranger car with Alliance Insurance Company on March 18, 2013, two days after he crash the same car. He then allegedly lodged a false insurance claim of $25,000 for the same car. The insurance company, suspecting a foul play, launch an investigation and reportedly found out that Wendall crashed the car before he insured it with them. This led to his arrest on Friday, while we gathered that he would soon be charged to court for prosecution. Wendall won $200,000 from the competition in 2011 and also got $50,000 cash from President Robert Mugabe for winning the show.

Samsung Electronics said Monday it had successfully tested super-fast fifth-generation (5G) wireless technology that would eventually allow users to download an entire movie in one second. The South Korean giant said the test had witnessed data transmission of more than one gigabyte per second over a distance of two kilometres. The new technology, which will not be ready for the commercial market before 2020 at the earliest, would offer transmitting speeds “up to several hundred times faster” than existing 4G networks, it said in a statement. “The 5G wireless technology will permit users to transmit massive data files including high quality digital movies practically without limitation. As a result, subscribers will be able to enjoy a wide range of services such as 3D movies and games, real-time streaming of ultra high-definition (UHD) content, and remote medical services,” the statement said. South African Police are hunting for a 33-year-old suspect who allegedly raped his 55-year-old mother in Matatiele’s Luphindo village. It is alleged that the suspect, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, forced his way into her bedroom and threatened her with a knife before dragging her to a neighbour’s house, where the alleged rape took place. Matatiele police spokesman Lieutenant Raphael Motloung said after the incident, the suspect ran away, leaving his traumatised mother locked in the house. Recounting the events, he said it is alleged that on October 14, at about 7pm the victim was asleep next to a male friend in her bedroom when the son knocked at their door.
